I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU A FREE COMPUTER!!!

We're almost there...  100 SHOWS!!  This week I had to pre-record the show because I was obligated to an interview with Time Warner Cable 8 News (the interview will air on Thursday night's edition of James Reed's V.I.P. segment, August 28th at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 8) and wasn't going to be able to prepare and deliver the show on time.  So, I focused primarily on the newest promotions and contests that I'm running; "100th Show Celebration Computer Give-Away" and "BSR Football Pool".

For those of you not yet aware of the computer give-away...  here's the skinny:

Jamestown's Newest Wi-Fi Hotspot! PDF Print E-mail

As you all know, I'm all about seeing Wi-Fi hotspots becomming more available in our community.  I've found myself many times wanting to pull over and connect to the internet when I'm out conducting business and there's just no place available to make the connection.  I've even done the show from the Labrynth Press Co. because I wanted to demonstrate some of the possibilities that a Wi-Fi Hotspot can bring about.

Show #96 - Special Guest PDF Print E-mail

This week's show was originally intended to cover topics related to kids and their computer requirements for school.  Being that the new school year is right around the corner, I thought it would be a good idea to start talking about things to consider when deciding on a new computer for your tech-savvy students.  I say it was "intended" to be that way because as I was walking out the door to head off to the radio station, I was approached by my three year old son, Isaac, with the usual round of questions:

  • Daddy...  are you going to work now?
  • Daddy...  where do you work?  At the radio station?
  • Daddy...  will you be listening to yourself on the radio while you're at the radio station?
  • Daddy...  can I come with you to be on the radio station?

Well, after several weeks of the same questions, I figured it was time to give him something other than the usual "No, Isaac...  you can't come with me."  And, instead, I said... "okay, Buddy...  get your pants on and grab a couple toys to take with you so you'll have something to play with."

  • chad : Welcome to the show... I'm here tonight to help you with your problems... please feel free to ask!! 8-)
  • chad : Welcome to the show!
  • chad : If you'd like to listen online, go to Paltalk.com and sign up for a free account, then join me in the Blue Screen Radio room
  • chad : I would also recommend that you use a program called Picasa which can be downloaded for free from here: «link» This program will really help you with your digital pictures.
  • chad : does that help?
  • chad : from there, you can just drag and drop the files from your camera into a folder that you choose on your hard drive...
  • chad : you can simply plug the camera into your computer and then go to My Computer and you'll see that Windows has mounted that camera's memory as a hard drive and given it a label, like E or F or G or something like that...
  • chad : Donna... you can usually plug your camera right into the computer with a USB cable or similar cable that came with the camera... there should've also been a program installed to do that... otherwise...
  • Donna : how do i get pics from camera to puter
  • Donna : how do iget rid of spyware
